In 1989 The Valley was originally called Phobos BBS and was running on a C64 with a 1670 and 2 1541 drives.
In 1990 it was renamed The Valley of Disaster and then later on that year it was renamed simply "The Valley". In 1992 the board was upgraded with a CMD HD20 and was hooked up to a 600 meg external scsi drive to it so it made The Valley a BBS with lots of software for downloads because the storage was so huge at the time. In the year 1992, a 620 meg BBS on the C64 was very rare.
In 1992 The Valley was the US HQ of Spirit for a short period of time.
Between 2013 and 2016, and 2021- under the Genesis Project flag running on:
¤ Commodore 128 in 64 mode.
¤ C-Base Version 3.2 Official Release with modifications done by The Keymaster.
¤ CMD HD with SCSI to IDE bridge and SD Card Adapter, 4 gigabyte SD card.
¤ Turbomaster 4.09 Mhz accelerator.
¤ Link-232 interface for Telnet bridge.
¤ Raspberry Pi running Raspbian and tcpser for Telnet bridge.
Board went offline in the beginning of 2016, and was back online 2021.
Along with wares and regular check-ins by prominent sceners, The Valley offers EMPIRE. For more than 40 years, this online game has proven to be a very popular multi user RPG.
