Partyreport TCC'93 in Gothenburg/Sweden
Hello fans outside! It happens first time that you're reading a partyreport from Caine/Creatures.
Maybe you never heard from this dude, so I'll give you some facts: I'm a boring swapper/painter and sometimes sponsor. Meanwhile I reached the critical age: 19. I live in this ugly country called Germany, in Leipzig.

Now, the report:
The whole thing started on the 28/5/93. The ruling crew (Hiccup/CRT, Nitro/RBL, Caine/CRT) went by train to Berlin. After the arrival in Berlin we searched our train, which went till København. Finally we found it and reserved our places. In the compartment were: the three eliterulers, a nice girl and two other subjects (a pensioner and a cool negro). The train started at midnight to the 29/5/93. Till the coast nothing special happened. But after the train entered the ferry, the passengers could do what they want to do (you could also stay in the train, although this is forbidden). We jumped upstairs, it's around 4 o'clock am. Meanwhile the ferry is on the run.
A cool fact is, that there's a so-called storm outside (I would say: appr. windforce 7...8). B'coz of this fact some people are in a bad way. But why there are lying tons of pukebags around? Some found its victim. On the ferry are the normal lame things: a duty free shop (duty free-what a joke), a cafeteria, some stupid gambling machines and some other boring things. Nitro and Hiccup hang around on the stairs, so sometimes I moved to the deck. The only thing I saw, was a stormeffect in the sideborders. On the ferry we also met this nice girl from the train and chatter a little bit. As it was 6 o'clock, the ferry arrived in Denmark, in Gedser. Then the whole thing continued to the direction København. Sometime in the morning we arrived there. While we hang around, we just come to the result, that København has many nice girls. And this was only at the railway station, what could you expect, when you're outta the station?? Try to find the answer and visit København!
While we're waiting for the train to Gothenburg, we just meet Odysseus from the Eastgang. Then the trip continued to Sweden. Between Denmark and Sweden there was again a ferry but without any storm. In Sweden we finally got seats in the train and relaxed during the ride. For the whole trip from Leipzig to Gothenburg we must pay only 95 German marks, isn't it nice? Sometime in the afternoon we arrived in Gothenburg. The most time we slept, somehow I noticed, that Sweden is a real beautiful country (sometimes the train went at the coast - nice..)
At the railway station in Gothenburg we also met Code 18 and Earthquake, both from Indigents. With an old tram we came to the messecentrum. Hmm, how to describe Gothenburg? It's not that nordic city as I thought first. This city has just, what you need (how interesting). The maindifference to German cities (as example) are the people - you read right. After this trip I think, that these people lead their life in a total other way, than these stupid lame German people. In Germany the most only want money and fame and nothing more. And that's so incredible lame!! Germany suxx major dick! Really!
Ha! I realize, that I'm leaving the way of a 'normal' partyreport, maybe it becomes an anti-Germany report, so stop!
As we reached the hall, we must pay 180 SKR, that's about 45 DM. We build up our station and look around. Later more and more freax (no names + groupnames here) occupied our station that we even cannot reach it. Nothing happens in this time, so me and Hiccup went out and walked through the city. Finally we found an empty pizzeria and I'm eating a big pizza. Tasted good! On this evening nothing more happened so I went sleeping at 1 o'clock am (it's the 30/5/93). At 1 o'clock pm I finally woke up from horrible nightmares and went back to our station. There the shock: still lots of freax (you know what I mean, if you was one of them!) occupy our station and so we decided to search another place. We found it near Swedish C-64 freaks from Deicide. In the afternoon the competitions started; I'm only looking at the C-64 musix, grafix and pc-grafix. The best musics came (in my opinion) from: The Syndrom (nice quattro player zak with an incredible shocking cool noise in it), Pri (also 4times/frame-sounds good), Argon (a normal zak, but I like it). Also some digis competed; I don't know why.
The best grafix were done (my opinion) by: Electric (simply great), Ogami (I wonder, why this was not on one of the first three places). During the democompo I must pay attention to our equipment, they said, it was stolen a lot. After some time the others came back from the compo - totally shocked. Copytime startedÂ… After this I enjoyed the demos. The best in my opinion was the Booze Designs demo. But also the demos from Censor Design and Antic had some shocking nice parts. All these demos were so extremely cool, that none of these demos deserved the 1st place. The fun with copying and watching goes till the morning of the 31/5/93. After some time it was too boring, so me and Hiccup made some visits in the halls. There you saw pictures, which you'll never forget: the people lied like it came - on the table, under the table, with sleeping bag, without sleeping bag, surrounded by tons of trash a.s.o. But equal - sleeping was the most important. About 7 o'clock am I'm also near the smashdown and I tried to sleep at our station. At noon we searched all the things together and prepared for the publication of the winners. This should be at 1 o'clock pm but somehow the organisers managed it to start at a quarter past 2 o'clock pm. So we had also some minutes left, b'coz the train started soon. So we moved back to the railway station. Again till the border, ferry to Denmark, in København we lamed around two hours and in the evening the train to Berlin started. It followed the chapter 'totally stoned' - sleeping till the end. At noon we arrived in Leipzig.

It was a good party, if you look at the released stuff. Bad was, that all compos started with delays. Nobody cleared the trash away, during the party - not so good. And nobody took attention to drugs and alcohol (alcohol is also a drug, my dear boozer!!)
Some last words: please, if you visit computerparties in other countries - don't be lame and hang around three days in the halls. Try to become acquainted with the people and this country and you'll come to some astonishing results. Maybe you hate your country then, maybe you love it much more than before. But the whole time in the halls, surrounded by trash, boozing + puking freax? No!

Finally: if the C-64 survives the year 1993/94 you can meet me again in Aars (if there's a party) and also in Gothenburg next year. Maybe there's a bigger party in Norway (Panoramic??), I would visit it...
This was a quite detailed report and I think, I'll close my head now..

Keep on living.
Caine is off.

CSDb (Commodore 64 Scene Database) is a website which goal is to gather as much information and material about the scene around the commodore 64 computer - the worlds most popular home computer throughout time. Here you can find almost anything which was ever made for the commodore 64, and more is being added every day. As this website is scene related, you can mostly find demos, music and graphics made by the people who made the scene (the sceners), but you can also find a lot of the old classic games here.
