Party Report

Party report in Mamba #15
the party was held in odense/denmark
from the 26th to the 29th of dec.1990
in a large school. it was probably
the biggest party ever arranged as
there were about 700 participants.
i guess about 25% were c64 freaks.
this small attendance and the lack
of foreign groups were mainly because
of the party-invitations didn't get
spread very well. anyway, the groups
is saw/met were fairlight, light,
ikari+talent, class, up-front,

triangle 3532, bones, impulse, atrix,
bonzai, laser, pulsar, censor, dom,
foxbat, demotion, vibrants, amnesia,
and some which have vanished from my
mind.

the party place was parted in a large
hall (only for amiga dudes), two
gymnasiums and several class-rooms.
food could be bought at the party or
in various shops and supermarkets
close to the school. the party was
very well arranged, officials
equipped with walkie-talkies were
patrolling the area, always ready

to help with whatever possible.
violence and vandalism as seen at the
other parties were prevented by an
alcohol prohibition. only a little
group of swedes caused some trouble
and they were quickly fetched by the
police.

about 12 demos participated in the
c64 competition where the first
prize was 500 usd. each participant
had one vote and bonzai showed a bad
sportsmanship by voting for the worst
demo which easily could have been
made in 30 minutes. this resulted in

the dexion-members cancelling the
votes and assign themselves as jur.
the result came out as follows:

1. light 4. x-factor 7. pulsar
2. triangle 5. bonzai 8. impulse
3. upfront 6. fairlight

all the mentioned groups received a
reward. i think people ought to take
this result in mind when voting for
the mags. good musicians don't make
bonzai the best demo-group. nor can't
quantity (bz's 15 parts) beat quality
(up-front's 4 parts). think about it.

all in all it was a successful party
with too many amiga guys though.
now it's up to all of you to change
that at the dom v2 party this easter.
see you there... (ed. read 'news' for
informations about the dom party...
by the way, if anyone could send the
up-front, the triangle and the bonzai
demo to the mamba box, we would be
extremely happy !!!)
