Focus Meeting #1
Party Report

Hip Hop Hooray!
At the end of February 1993 things started happening again in Focus. We've had a bad year behind us, with only 3 releases, of which 2 were not up to par with our normal work. I myself had moved out of my parents placed and now lived together with my then-girlfriend in Den Haag, where I studied computer science. For the first half year we lived there I didn't have a phone so it was hard to stay in touch with the other Focus members, and the group was falling apart a bit.

At the end of 1992 Compyx & X-Byte, who had rejoined Focus after a short stint in Black Mail, visited me with some demos from TP2. We decided that we wanted to get back into action as well, and soon plans for a meeting were made. That happened 2 months later, in my house. It was great, easily one of the best scene-events I ever attended. The Naughty By Nature song Hip Hop Hooray became our anthem, after we constantly threw our hands in the air and waved them like we just didn't care ..

Memories:
* X-Byte & me visiting a club on friday night, looking at the girls dancing there, wishing they would attend our member meeting too :)
* Me going to bed at 6.30 saturday morning, only to be woken up by X-Byte switching on the c64 a few hours later. Didn't get much sleep that weekend.
* PDB headbutting my wooden table. It had to hurt. It had to.
* X-Byte eating chinese food, stoned out of his mind, looking at the carrots in it for 10 minutes, not understanding what it did there ("er zitten wortels in m'n eten .. kijk nou .. wortels!")
* Mirage drawing a picture of a woman's face for the note to our demo on my fucked up tv screen, which makes it look like she's beaten up.
