Event id #82 : Swedish Elite Easter Conference

Was this party really a c64 party?

Why I'm wondering is that on the very same date, Horizon are organizing another party in Vårby, a suburb of Stockholm.

When checking the releases listed for this specific party, you will only get references to the "Horizon Easterparty".

* Oneway - Pappa Badger
Skyflash are compling about that he can not go to Stockholm becuase of his parents.

* Panoramic Designs - Pixel Magic
from the scroller in the second part, "this is a live report from the horizon party in vaarby (a place where only criminals live)!!"

* Browbeat + Motion - Ingen Pant
Scrollers talk about the new demos from Origo and Beyond Force. Plus mentions Flash inc. members. All of whom released demos at the "Horizon Easterparty".
Text by Kjer/Horizon in one of the parts - "Fuckings to horizon.. amiga-horizon for 'stealing' our name and guys who would come to this party if they wouldn't have one."

---

My hypothesis is that this party was an Amiga only party. Organized by the Amiga groups Horizon, Fairlight and Miracle. (Remember that the part of Horizon that was kicked in 1988, later used the name Horizon on amiga.)

in the report from the party in vårby in
datormagazin 9/90 only c64 demos by origo,
light & flash are mentioned(according to
the article there were 40 c64 entries).

on several pages on the internet the
demos you wrote about are mentioned
together with the swedish elite easter
conference. like this result list:
http://scenet.de/parties/texts/swedisheliteeasterconference90_r..
and if you trust the c64 scenery page
then those demos were actually
released at the swedish elite easter
conference

Lethal news #4, chapter "party-reports"

"
If anyone wonders why there was so few
amigas there i'll tell you: some nerd-
brain in FLT / lame-amiga-Horizon got
the great idea of arranging an amiga-
party in gothenburg during the eastern!!
By the way, R E A L Horizon will soon
show some mnemonics on the virus-box in
the near future...
"

cutted from text written by Bagder & Zagor / Horizon

I still believe that the c64 entries listed for the "Swedish Elite Easter Conference" actually was released at the Horizon party in vårby.

they were released at the Varby C64 party, 100% sure. I was a dedicated mail swapper back then and I got these demos from that party.

Yep, I am also sure about that, these c64 demos were not released at that Amiga party. They somewhere mixed up things at the Scenery database.

Messed up at Scenery?

Oh, am I surprised? Perhaps this would be some kind of alarmclock for you cut'n pasters out there - that you shouldn't take anything from that source as granted. And this is not the only case. We're just about enough people with senses and memories intact enough to document our own history without beeing misled by unverified counter-info.

The reason only the Origo, Flash & Light demos were mentioned is probably because they were the three demos that ranked highest. But yes, there were a lot more demos - hell, even I competed (with my first, and only, Science 451 demo).

The amiga compo had only 3 entries and was one by Cycleburner. Yes, *that* Cycleburner.

Still have very fond memories of that party, even though I lost a lot of money (left my bag in the taxi) and got sea-sick on the way over there.

was one by Cycleburner = was won by Cycleburner, ofcourse.

And just to be clear: the party was the Horizon Easter party, don't remember anything about it being called Swedish Elite Easter Conference.
