Group id #275 : Empire
My memory is a little fuzzy, but is this the same group that "imported" from the U.S. into Canada? I can't seem to remember what the group name was that did this.
I do recall however that there were some real brilliant (read: lame) groups out there that were "importing" warez from the U.S. into Canada. Why waste the time and disk space in slapping on an intro for this? Its one thing to import warez from Europe into (North) America, with the potential for NTSC fixes, etc., but once the warez are here, how lame is it to "import" from the U.S. to Canada? Makes about as much damn sense as "importing" from New York to California...
Any thoughts people?

Strange imports does exist, meaning they have not taken the normal route, Europe -> North USA.
I've seen triad cracks being imported from Sweden into Switzerland. Another release, which I can not remember the name of, going from Sweden to Russia via Poland. Ending up with 2 extra import intros.
There exists quite a few west -> east Europe imports. Someone with the langual knowledge should dig more into this..
About the Empire you listed here I don't know. |

Some corrections to my last post. The route for the russian game was not via Poland. But directly to Russia, altough 2 russian intros are added. The game is Neuronics and the import was done as late as 1992 - aug - 05. |

Isn't Canada PAL? In that case importing from the USA to Canada would not be so strange, if at least there would be a pal fix. |

Empire was a Canadian based NTSC fix and cracker group. They imported to the USA and Canada. Some of their members were French-Canadians which isn't uncommon.
They imported for quite a few groups, such as Legend, Success, Arcade and The Ruling Company.

If anyone is interested I think I might be able to dig out a picture of Vizz and one other member that I meet a few years back...
