Either Andrew or Galway were sceners. Rob used Compunet did music demos to get work in the industry and he did the Chicken Song music for a demo, but a scener? No.

I'm okay if people like those are added to the database. without adding them there would be plenty of gaps in the credits, and I personally like it when the credits to a release are complete.
I think we all know who is or who never was a scener, so what are we talking about?
how about a category 'non sceners' then? it's a simple thought but it could definitely work.

how a bout a flag "non-scener" in scener entries. people would select this flag for entries of those "scener.php"`s who arent sceners in your definition and you could even have an option in your csdb profile to hide all the flagged bastards from your eyes. and the credits in scene productions would stay intact. aint it simple enough ?

a database property that can only be interpreted by initiated humans is bullshit, totally useless. (and no, i doubt everyone knows all and everyone who wasnt a scener. its not always as obvious as in these cases)

I solved the problem by adding the following trivia info to Andrew Sleigh entry:

Trivia :
not a scener, credited in scene productions

now the property can be interpreted by the uninitiated.

it's still not very useful, because it still can only be interpreted by a human. to the database there is still no difference from a "real" scener. (the point is to avoid having to manually review god knows how many entries in the future... presentation layer usually is a non issue and can be worked around easily)

but who is this database done for ? a human or some Mr. Data Base ? in any case the solution is afew posts above. add a flag(cant see a difference from adding a date of death for instance) to mark the "non-sceners" and the database will be smart enough to know! \o/

please, be serious. by that logic simply having one huge textfield "put your info here" for every scener would be sufficient.

that was a joke mate. but theres no need why the database should know the difference between a scener and a person who was credited in a scene productions. some people would like to know the difference and the trivia info is something a human can comprehend. and if that is absolutely necessary for some db operations(fe. for people who like to see teh true scenerz only and gaps in scene productions credits) a flag is the solution.
