Could someone please record the sampled VIC sounds for me? My 64 seems to pretty well shielded, I hear absolutely nill even with monitor at full volume...

not sure if it's the same with this sample method, but iirc you need either a 6581 or a modded 8580 to hear them... but I'm probably very very wrong since this is a completely new method...

nono, you really seem to get it wrong. There's a demo part with sampled music that ought to work WITHOUT SID installed. So it's somehow using the 11.025 Hz VIC frequency as carrier noise, probably switching VIC on and off and thus creating 1 bit digis (Chimera!!!) riding on the VIC carrier wave. Problem is, my 64 doesn't have VIC noise, or at least none that I could hear. :-/

It was also possible to switch dark/light colors which would somewhat send noise to the tv speakers (old televisions would seem more prone to do this) without a SID. The lighter the color the louder the interference audio

I might do it tonight, since I need to hook up my c64 for re-flashing my RR and watching some demos... if it works, I'll record it :_)
