Project One & Win8
Hmm seems like I hit the Win8 wall too!
Is it really true that there is no workaround the Project One + Win8 problem ??
And no, I don't want to get rid of Win8... =)
Is there no way we can persuade Oswald to do a Win8 compatible version ??
Oswald Pleeeease =) |

probably the visual basic files are not installed
COMDLG32.OCX
MSCOMCTL.OCX
MBMouse.ocx
I got problems on win7 aswell but once added in windows\sytem32 and registered, everything went ok |

unexpected error is strange, as the latest one print out error msgs. probably the error occures before it even enters my code.
Ian is maybe right, tho the installer copies those files.
it may be tho, that one of the vb6 hacks fail, p1 needed many of those. there are many old win API calls to achieve stuff that vb6 doesnt support directly.
like handling of .ini files, direct GDI calls, the uglyest being overwriting the header structure of an array to repoint it in memory. |

Ian's method doesn't work - the same effect.
But if someone need to register these components (not so easy task on win8.1) must run command prompt as admin. For now there is no other way to do that. |

job firewall blocks that link. I'll up the source somewhere this week, then if anyone feels like it can have a go. |

Oswald I can't understand why you abandoned this project. There is no competition for P1 STILL (maybe Hermires, definitely not Pixcen - yet and maybe never, can't even think about Timanthes).
Workflow, shortkeys, palettes, GFX modes, import/export, dithering and "easy of use" makes P1 most powerful and flexible gfx tool for C64 ever made.
And yes I'm P1 fanboy :P |
