Size matters...

Warning: Might be a stupid question, but maybe not too stupid to answer :)

For release types "?K Intro"/"??? bytes whatever" - what does really count here/at parties (might depend on rules, but generally speaking...)?

Crunched size?
Un-crunched pre-RUNning range?
Clobbered bytes of RAM (including write access/generated stuff)?

the party rules will usually tell you in detail :)

however usually eg for 4k compo its ".prg file with max 4096 bytes". how much memory you use or how big it gets after uncrunching is usually irrelevant on parties. (the intro compo that was run here on csdb is an exception really)

Indeed, any size restriction canonically applies to executeable size (size on disk) for demos. The machine is entirely hijacked by your production, after all.

Actual intros which are required to leave some space for linked payload programs have more complicated (and harder to verify and enforce) restrictions, such as leaving such and such amounts of RAM for the payload.
