THE MOVERS Treasure Chest V

Hi folks, I think the time has come to start a new Treasure Chest thread.

Links to the old ones:
TMTC
TMTC II
TMTC III
TMTC IV

But before offering the next package we at The Movers want to say THANKS to all of you still delivering new old stuff. Keep going on!

First package in this new thread is from a non-scener guy living in our home-town Bochum. Just know him some years now and found out that he got C-64 disks in his cellar. So I named this collection the Helmut disks. Haven't checked it against CSDB entries. Anyway enjoy the stuff.

Helmut disks

Cheers!

I found an old post (10.06.2010) in TMTC 1 from Jazzcat,

"here is GARTH's collection. 73MB zip with over 1000 d64 images... http://www.megaupload.com/?d=D9KEBTGE"

i cant find this diskcollection anywhere. Also not at Scenebase... Does anybody have this / or knows the correct Filename...

Everything should now be mirrored on http://c64disks.hvilket.net/

At the moment some stuff is sorted into subdirectories depending on original uploader here on CSDb, but I've not sorted everything yet, and some might be doubled up aswell..

Zyron: The OTD disks is in the Skylab dir.

I tranferred some disks which I was hosting in several boxes for years now.
They are so called "bycatches" when I bought several commodore computers in the past.
Anyway the collection contains less games but a lot of educational stuff, text-, music- and graphic tools.
Maybe there is something scene-related in it,too.

http://www.file-upload.net/download-11756559/HOL2001BulkDisks.r..

Could you also pls. mirror it?

you are pleased to upload everything here with an ordinary ftp client:

Well after nearly a year hiatus I'm finally back with the first of many updates fir scenebase. The disks were archived prior to eccc 2015 but didn't get processed til now and I only recently got my vision back enough to notice they not gone up. Several more updates soon. http://scenebase.org/collections/c64/sets/silent700-disks

An extremely small update. Just some stuff that I did at last year's Expo in Chicago. Not much to see here but it was stuff that didn't exist already so here it is. When I say didn't exist I mean I archived at the show. Lol.

Here's some more disks to play with. These are my own old disks, at least the ones that survived a flood and multiple moves and all sorts of crazy shit. Some of you already have these:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/mb9fu2xrt008d76/RaddMaxx1.zip?dl=0

A year or so ago my brother and I decided we were going to try to get back all the disks we lost and he got in touch with another old collector from Ohio who used to hook us up back in the day. He sent us these rips and we were thrilled to find that some of them were exact copies of what we used to have. These disks are in GREAT shape but the organization is a total mess and several disks are ripped up to 3 times (d64, g64 and nib). Another note on these disks, there are several that were sourced from someone calling themselves Micro Maniac whom I remember from back in the day as the most notorious and prolific recracker that we, and probably the world, have ever known. So if you decide to dive in just be aware and dont give him credit for any cracks. I havent added him to the Db because it would take the rest of my life to sort through and catalog his "works" but I'll eventually cherry pick some stuff.

Hooray for more George Page! His absolutely massive collection has been very good for the NTSC groups in the Db, from the big guys all the way down to the nobodies. Thanks to all involved with this project, I hope you know the work is paying off.

Here are the images of disks that I obtained from various sources:

http://8bitchip.info/commodore/D64Backup1.7z
http://8bitchip.info/commodore/D64Backup2.7z
http://8bitchip.info/commodore/D64Backup3.7z

Some of them have errors (it is stated in their filename) and there is a dirlist in each archive. I hope that someone finds something useful in there...

Here's the stuff I have collected over the last few years.

Lots of old Nashua disks that had errors, they're all in a separate subfolder. If anyone discovers anything interesting in there let me know and I can send those bad disks to someone with a bit more patience or better equipment.

I used a 1571 with xum1541 and d64copy.

It's on wetransfer, so gone in a week.

Archive of Marcus/Unreal, 280MB(unpacked) 1683 disk images.

Original post in czech here http://c64.cz/index.php?diskuze=88

Once upon a time,

Thanks to one of the people in this country, I got two banana boxes in my hands.

And they weren't just boxes. These boxes were full of other boxes. Some shoe boxes, some nicely made in transparent plastic, but they had on thing in common. They were all packed with 5.25 diskettes.

And since I didn't know why, I agreed to take care of these floppy disks, so I started to archive history of Marcus, swapper of Unreal and who knows what other groups...

I didn't know yet that the next four weeks, every 30 seconds, I would drive one floppy disk after another into my single 1541 drive. For copying, I "pay god" (not paying ..) used 1541 ultimate and its great Ulticopy8, which in 33 seconds will convert the floppy side to SD card.
And what is waiting for you?

Games, demos, magazines, period relics and sources of Splash magazines, which in recent times flooded the Czech region with information about Commodore 64. There certainly be a lot treasures so if you come across something.. into the discussion with it, boys!

And I'll add one nostalgic note...

In the initial phase of copying, I rake into one of the banana boxes and pull out the unlabeled diskette, with a full surprise I insert an unlabelled diskette into the drive and what the treasure I found on it...
Moments of surprise and call! PCH Music Collection from 1996 and a few of them I didn't know I used to create back then in the summer of 1996 :)

Download, analyze .. discuss and save .. there is about 185 Mb in ZIP .. 1683 pages of floppy disks and in unpacked state 280 MB on disk :)

And I promised one. I will never copy diskettes again!

yeah .. and the download link is here: http://www.c64.cz/download/marcus/marcus.zip

Guys, between us collectors, I have two questions:
1. I would like to use my FTP client for http://c64disks.hvilket.net/ but need to make some settings otherwise it will not work. I use FlashFXP.
2. what would be the best place to store my things I have transferred over the years? I have no problem sharing them.

Thanks a lot.

2-3 years ago I picked up a disk collection in North Florida.
There are over 1800 disks and I am 1/3 of the way archiving them. They might have belonged to Pira-Ted of NEPA.
Most disks are labeled NEPA and I have a seq file from NEPA HQ BBS. A good portion are also are labeled NFI.
A lot of good stuff not on CSDB yet, but I will begin uploading soon.

Not sure if anyone knew him back in the day, I would like to confirm these belonged to him.

Its taking me forever. I am going to get to disk 686 by the end of this weekend. Some of these disks are in bad shape and it takes a bit of cleaning to get them functioning. About 2% are beyond repair.

that he had reformed." - Captain Kidd/ESI

I am assuming these are his, since 70% of the disk labels say NEPA. There is also a capture from NEPA HQ, which he use to run. A good amount of the other labels say NFI, which he was in as well. I am not even half way through, so I hope to get some concrete proof at some point.

At the moment some stuff is sorted into subdirectories depending on original uploader here on CSDb, but I've not sorted everything yet, and some might be doubled up aswell..

Me and Dymo are working with BB on these, and they will be uploaded when trashed disks are fixed and redumped etc. Will take a while, as they are so many. But they will end up online in time. Don't worry. (But don't hold your breath.)

@hedning: Your question reminded me that I bought some disks 2-3 months ago and forgot about them. Anyhow, I just made a backup (files with pyd64fix were made from several d64 files using PyD64Fix, some of them have errors that I was unable to remove) and here it is:

http://8bitchip.info/oub/Commodore/Floppy%20Backup/D64Backup5.7z

It's not much, but it is something :)

Error directory inside archive has all reading attempts for bad D64 files.

Hmm, the link works (I just checked), it is on friend's server, not a sharing site. Maybe go to

I found some other leeched c64 related websites in my old archive:

c64.hardwired.hu

This website doesn't exist anymore, since a long time, i guess.

Example:

Maybe it contains more missing releases. I really don't know.

Well, nice to see this thread alive and kicking again. I have been archiving some c64 disks for the past year, most interesting stuff has already been added to csdb by me or someone else. But still think it's worthy to share it with you guys (you might be able to find something in there I/they didn't):

2 disk collections borrowed from Conan/Rebels
https://krakenfiles.com/view/90a820cf93/file.html
https://krakenfiles.com/view/55ef1df799/file.html

My turbo tapes (mostly)
https://krakenfiles.com/view/ztOVKVCzjy/file.html

Another few tapes:
https://krakenfiles.com/view/ful4xgROWa/file.html

Some disks I borrowed of a guy called Hans (was quite fine stuff ;):
https://krakenfiles.com/view/Jl2WH6EO5K/file.html

Another pack of disks from Bo (local Danish C64 collector)
https://krakenfiles.com/view/MbWY7mqper/file.html

And a pack of disks from LPN/ex. Depth (who also has quite a Commodore collection)
https://krakenfiles.com/view/Vq4wQxQp9n/file.html

Not ripped by me, but submitted to me or found by me:

Disk images from Odkin, was ripped by someone but not submitted:
https://krakenfiles.com/view/bbr26KYXmK/file.html

Disk images from Malcom, was ripped by someone but not submitted:
https://krakenfiles.com/view/0GZHEbe7qq/file.html

Disk images from Twist, found on FB c64 group in files section:
https://krakenfiles.com/view/6B40hIoce2/file.html
https://krakenfiles.com/view/C5EVc62jwp/file.html
https://krakenfiles.com/view/n1VQoTqnVb/file.html

Collection found on archive.org
https://krakenfiles.com/view/GEk9egSI1o/file.html

From TRS, archived by Dozer/Demozoo
https://krakenfiles.com/view/Nz0GQkflpS/file.html

From Bitbear, I assume archived by Dozer or himself

The archives I did will stay online for as long as Krakenfiles allows, whereas the other collections will probably be deleted at some point.

No prob. And, just to mention it, some of the tape rips are quite shitty. Pre-80's-cassettes and tries to copy stuff with double tape recorder on hifis takes its toll.

Quote: I found some other leeched c64 related websites in my old archive:

c64.hardwired.hu

This website doesn't exist anymore, since a long time, i guess.

Example:

Name: "Uj Vadnyugat" is missing on CSDb.
-> c64.hardwired.hu\u\ujvadny_\UJVADNY_.T64

Maybe it contains more missing releases. I really don't know.

Download:

https://1fichier.com/?q2urpo1vm5nelxkn2whj

PS:
I have some other leeched website content aswell.

Missed those two files, can anyone re-up them?

PS. My archive is offline as I need to sort out this log4j shite :(

Some more disks, probably originally owned by Clinic/Display/Matrix/Smash/Passion (yeah, this guy had a few handles), but lent to me by the guy who was repairing a few Amigas for me :)
The stuff I added today is from this collection. Might also be some DMC/SIDs in there for HVSC...

Also some more .tap's (tapes borrowed from Bo, local guy)
