In order to help with the research in this thread it'd be great if in case you stumble about some kind of "check RAM for suspicious patterns" routine (which you would then probably disable in the crack) post it here, preferably together with a link the exact original you used, and perhaps some hint on how to find that routine in memory - i want to make test cases from these routines and finally work out a RAM init pattern that works with all of them. Two such routines which have already been found and made into test cases are here (from Platoon Tape and Darkstar BBS Disk).
