6572/6573
Does anybody know of a info source for these models of VIC-II. The "VIC Article" doesn't seem to mention them.
VICE has a Drean mode, which is is the 72 model? |

The Drean mode of vice emulates the 6572 (PAL-N).
The 6573 is PAL-M as used in Brazil. PAL-M is basically NTSC with PAL-style coding of the chroma subcarrier so timing should be identical to NTSC. CRT emulation should probably be different though. Not sure if that can be selected. |

6572 VIC-II (PAL-N). Used in Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay. Basically same as PAL-B/G, D/K, H, or I. Uses Pal timings and colours.
6573 VIC-II (PAL-M). Used in Brazil, NTSC with Pal colours. Viewable in b/w with NTSC TV's. Should be same timing as NTSC. |

Quoting Repose6572 VIC-II (PAL-N). Used in Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay. Basically same as PAL-B/G, D/K, H, or I. Uses Pal timings and colours. VIC-II timings are completely different though. Different clock frequency, 65 cycles per line like NTSC but 312 lines per frame like PAL. |
