Handle id #8777 : Hal

There was a duo called KGB+HAL that made demos like Torquemurder & Mirrorhawk. KGB seems to have been the coder & HAL the graphician (sometimes also called HAL 9000, or was that someone else?)
Is it the same Hal as this one who made Barbaric?
And who was KGB?

The The David Dunn Music Collection I was compiled by a KGB, is it the same one?

i *think* HAL 9000 was someone else (there were a lot of similar handles back in the day, it wouldn't be unusual) and my shaky, somewhat useless memory reckons that the HAL who worked with KGB was the same one who coded "Barbaric".

Can't be sure about the KGB on the David Dunn collection either but, judging from the screenshot and the request that people vote for him, that's a Compunet upload so i'd be *guessing* it's the one who worked with HAL and probably the same KGB who inspired the "protection" in Stoat&Tim's game "W.A.R" that causes it to nuke the RAM and reset if you enter that name on the highscore table.

I have 2 pictures signed "Lee alias HAL 9000" & they both have the text "KGB & HAL" in the basicline so I guess it's the same Hal after all...

Any idea who were hiding behind the handles KGB & HAL?
I've seen KGB credited as Cagey in some scroller(s)...

Edit: After some scrollreading I've come to the conclusion that Hal who coded Barbaric isn't the same as Hal (9000) who made GFX for KGB. In the scroller of the demo "Mirrorhawk" he writes "CAGEY'S GETTING EDGEY ABOUT ME OVERWRITING THE ROM OR SOMETHING TECHNICAL (I'M JUST AN ARTIST)...", so he probably didn't code those demos...or, he learned to code later on...
Damn, I'm not quite sure about this after all :)

Well, a lot of artists did learn to code in order to show their work off...?

i *think* Lee was the same one who worked with Kernel a couple of times; i've always assumed he was the same Lee who did the graphics for a couple of budget games like "Hyperion 2", Lee Cawley, i think i got that impression from the charsets used in the game.

I just found a preview of a game called "Starswarm" which is written by KGB and HAL. It gives full names aswell:

KGB = Paul Baker
HAL = Lee Uren

They call themselves "Arcadia Developments" there.
