Any news on new verisons/batches of the C64Reloaded board?

With the news of Gideons new Ultimate64 i would like to ask if anyone here has news on Jens' C64Reloaded boards?

I heard there should be news versions coming up some time, but there have not been any news later from the announcement.

Maybe someone here knows if it's worth to save money for the next C64Reloaded batches, or when they might be released?

ah thanks for the link.

yet i am not comparing things, i am just curious on what hardware will finally get real or not. as the c64reloaded is pretty desireable, but was only available in homöopathic doses.. ^^

this one will be available in higher volumes i think. and there will also be an fpga based one some day (but one thing at a time...) :)

weasel hinted something about a fpga version aswell.

but i am more after the c64reloaded. just need to see where to get the chips needed for that then.

the text hints about being able to switch between the two sidchips on runtime. do you happen to know anything more about that maybe?

well its just that, you can use the second sid for stereo, or for double mono, or just switch between them. i dont have my prototype yet so how *exactly* it works, no idea :) it also depends on the microcontroller code that has to be written (by me =P)

Is there also any (insider) news on the C64c cases, Groepaz?

Keep my fingers crossed that the next C64R series is more successful in terms of stereo, last time full stereo ability was declared, but not possible to get stereo signal via the board's pre-installed audio plug. and board layout (height due to these strange sockets) was also not helpful for SID moddings. Didn't make me regret having bought, though, just saying.

The Cases are produced and put into storage. Also, some nice packaging has been produced and placed also into stock. We still have to tailor everything with screws, stickers, and stuff. The official launch event will be at Gamescom. In the next couple of days, I will make the photos of the cases and the packaging and assemble the next newsletter.

Isn't the header J13 there for that purpose? If there's a stereo setup, the second audio channel is to be routed to pin 4. The default jumper block is here to bridge the audio channels so that you get sound from both channels from the 3,5 mm jack with one SID setup.

That's how I read the schematics anyway, haven't installed any dual SID board on mine.

I agree the SID socket placement would be much more convenient if it was further towards the back panel. Now it gets crowded under the kb with C64 C case.

Thanx for the info, Tommes.
This sounds promising!
