Wanna rescue a special release from tape
I want to rescue this release:
Beyond the Ice Palace
It is from tape recorded with Turbo Tape. But it always appears Load Error and after the title picture the release breaks. I've tried it with head justage programme but nothing helps. What can i do to rescue this crack? |

If you cant get it to run at all on a real thing, this is bad.
Did you try different datasettes? And really really try alot with recorderjustage. Not only during the first few seconds, but rather watch the whole file in recorder justage or alike.
You SHOULD see disturbing bits there. Keep in mind though that these progs do NOT show all bits but usually an error is larger than 1 bit anyway..
If all this still fails you can try to get someone to dump it for you with the DC2N. On PC you can try to find and repair problematic parts. In case the timing is just bad these can be repaired automatically with i.e. TAPCLEAN afterwards.
If the tape is fuxx0red due to strong magnetic fields or corrupted band material, this will be some hard hand job.

Have you cleaned the head of the datasette with 80% (or +) alcohol?
You could also try to dump it with MTAP and see if it can be fixed on PC, a bit like enthusi said. |

Sounds to me like normal head alignment problems. Very common with tapes. |

Make sure to adjust the tapedeck when the boot block is loading of the game - its always the hardest part to get to load and often the reason why it fails |
