The cannon is easy, shoot the block at the top about five times (any more and it starts lobbing bullets back) and then move down to the bottom and repeat until they blow up; the hardest bit is timing the move so that the blue bullet and the beam from the cannon don't converge on you. Oh, and if you sit right at the top or bottom of the screen when shooting the blocks, only your ship's bullets will hit it so it's easier to count the shots off, either that or sit at top or bottom, hold the stick left to force the outriders to come in closer and only fire three times if there's only one outrider onscreen or twice if both are there.

Getting to the last endboss without losing a life, but that fucking cannon always blows my torch out! Never managed to beat the bugger!

You're a wimp Style... =-) Still play Io to the end every now and then to see if i can do it and have never used cheats or rarely needed a second life. =-)

I remember playing the ass off this game, and it being so hard I could only complete it with cheats :)
