This should have been #1 on The Party 1997. Of course, the (PC-ish) audience preferred the conversion of Second Reality. That one was good, ok, but IMHO this one is so much better...

This is one of perfect, but for some reason overlooked demos. I remember it in 1997, in amount of production with copied effects from Mathematica or so, this was pleasant surprise. I love its graphics! Music is awesome too, but most likely 8580 only.

Wow, I saw this after someone shared the video on Facebook. “Really nice effects” I thought to myself... and “not seen that done before”.

Then I saw it’s from 1997.

Clearly it’s not, this is way too good for 1997. Can someone fix the CSDB entry? Should be sometime after 2010, surely.

For being a demo from way back in 1997, this still looks very good even today. Lots of cool effects to see and it already had some style which many demos lacked. The fonts are very nice too and give it that extra touch.

My all-time favourite demo. Great music, beautiful and colourful effects and graphics, many fresh new ideas with nice transitions. And quite long. I remember how shocked I was when the double tunnel and the free floating 3D objects appeared on the big screen. I was in Smash at that time and thought: no, we will not win the compo. We did though, undeservingly.

This is one of my all time favourites. Great effects, great music, nice transitions and cool graphics, high pace... I'm not asking for more :)

@oswald: you always tend to be protective :) there where demos before 1997 that did not fall into the category of effect slideshows, but following the mainstream during any given era is always safe, but never stands to the test of time. But we still love you Oswald :)

Tao you are accusing a 97 demo for not being like a 2006 demo. It's almost 10 years back man. Demos were effect slideshows. Even stuff which looks today awful was accepted as kewl back then.

The graphics are nice, the coding advanced, but the demo lacks feeling. It's just a stacking of effects, nothing else. I won't claim I can do better, because my ideas rarely come out as I imagine them, but this feels more like a n effect-slideshow than anything else.

This was the demo which took me back to the C64 in 1998 after some years of absence. Not being aware of the improvements made during this period, i was really surprised by the quality, when i first saw it!
