Quoting Mr.SID
@Jailbird: it is turned off if you drag a .prg onto VICE.

I see. Don't really understand the reason, though. Is true drive emulation affecting the work of a single file?
Well anyway, at least I'll know where to look next time.
Tanks!

Neat production indeed. Looking forward to what you might come up with in the future.

EDIT: Splendid choice of music, that "I sail at midnight" tunetje is pretty amazing.

EDIT: I finally found a way to still edit comments, suckers.

EDIT: No, really!

@Mr.Sid: and that's due to the sin of people uploading plain .prg files instead of C64 images. :p

Because I really appreciate the love and dedication Simon put into this one, I think it deserves a *big* review just like a 1337 demo =)

Logo:
Nice logo by the USER [ of course =) ]. Although I'm not a fan of interlaced modes I think it was a very cool idea with interlacing it.

Intro:
Funny introduction. Very reduced coder-gfx, but I can so imagine this to be a typical scene from your everyday-life. "Erhobener-Zeigefinger"-mode: You should spend more time on the C64 than on the bong ;-)

Flashing-Screens:
Already told you at the party that I really dig the graffity-style parts of it. Looks very good and works very well. Part rocks and sync to music is done nicely. And of course I'm very flattered for the MYD hommage =)
I wonder why you didn't sync $d020 and $d021 values in the mainloop. If I'm not mistaken should be possible with some tables. Would imho look even cooler if border wasn't visible.

Intro-Sytle-Part:
Solid 80's intro style, nice logo by Shine, and nice fade-out.

Tunnel+sprites-Screen:
Tunnel and sprites are looking good and the idea is nice. You should have get rid of those glitching sprites that appear from time to time.

Isometric-Part:
Very nice looking screen. I'm still amused of the fact that you just used one single sprite in this one. Your statement on the party "I was just too lazy to add more" makes you so sympatic as a person. So I just love this part for creating those repating "Why?" patterns in my head :-)

Devil in the mirror picture:
The idea is really great. Execution unfortunately so-so. I hope Shine will improve his gfx skills for pics like he did for logos.

Butterfly-part:
Has a nice atmosphere, fitting to the music. Though my gf said: "WTF? Butterflies? That's gay." :-)

Final screen:
Nice, solid parallax-scroller you did here. The simple logo fits very well and looks good with the extension into the border.

It was a real pleasure to meet Simon and Dr.J and party with you guys. Looking forward to see you at X and/or next year at BCC again! Congrats for deserved #1 and thank you for even releasing *two* demos so that BCC got an own demo category [ without you I couldn't have won mixed-compo =P ]!

Love & peace!
spider.

Ah damn, that fucking true drive emulation in Vice turned off itself again for some reason. Whoever was responsible for its seemingly random behavior owes me a few nerves. Sorries guys, everything is fine in v2.4

And the demo was nice! Keep up the good work.

runs fine on original hardware and vice 2.2 (maybe there is a bug in 2.4)

Crashes after the image with the stick figure holding an umbrella (WinVice 2.4). Am I doing something wrong?
