Some nice ideas, but the flickering (even if no CIA=key/joy input) sucks, sorry.

First I thought this was supposed to be NTSC, but it flickers on both standards. Didn't check the code, but I guess you should turn off the interrupts or leave IRQ (if there is any) with $EA81 instead of $EA31 or whatever. Moreover the bankswitching/$d012 splits which switch $d018/$d011/$d016 between scrolltext and multicolour modes are messy. Check each rastersplit individually by inc $d020/21 and pick other $d012 values/add some NOPs until each split looks alright. Gfx could also need some polish.

Inspite of all the legitimate criticism, remain defiant, everyone's a beginner at some point. But what Elder said: take yourself some time before releasing, on CSDb ppl frequently get clobbered 4 much minor bugs. ;)

don't rush too much! take your time and remove all the bugs before releasing.
Good luck for your next!

I just noticed that "hidden effect" mode - lol, that's never happened before. Yes, it was a little rushed.

press space for "hidden-effect-mode" :)

well, ok. everyone has to start somewhere, so i hope you will be motivated, and try to release with less bugs next time. maybe add some colorwash or flashing to the scroll, change charset, add 8 sprites moving in a wave, and ask someone to help with the gfx (or improve them yourself)

sucks. try to improve code (and ask someone to do gfx) before releasing.
