This compo is running till 7 May. I'll probably make another entry for the 512 bytes compo. Since only 2 entries per category are allowed, I'll wait till the last day for my choice. Thx.

what Ninja said.

it's just a "poke $104E, $0c" and its fixed. If Hein allows me, I will just upload this tune for him with the 1-byte fix in place and enter it in the compo under his name :)

Great tune which should really be in the competition. Hein, can't you just use the NOP opcode and move ZP variables 5 bytes to the front? So, you get NOP $10B4?

Nice track! sadly its bugged but hein said the fix in Goofs.

Go into hex editor and find 2C B4 15. Then replace it with 0C B4 15, then ittl play correctly.

Beautiful ensemble. Haha, they are not playing in sync? Oh, they are, just getting on and off at different times.
Chaotic, nice!

WOW! It doesn't play correctly with VICE 3.6.1. But Org. HW does it and Sidplay 2/w

Hein is right, whenever I play the .prg in my vice config, it's broken. $15bc = $ff in my case.

now Im playing the .sid, and omg! <$200 bytes, ubergood <3

I vote 9 now, but will inc to 10 if a fixed version comes :)

From the rules: "- All code, data, and non-zeropage variables that are required for your tune to play should fit in one continuous block of the size specified by the category. Your music code is not allowed to access any non-zeropage RAM outside of this range."

Whenever an intro with this tune accidentally has a negative value at $15BC, the music is kaput.

There's still enough time to decide about an update for this tune, though. Maybe I'll extend it a bit and move it to another category.

To me it's not bugged at all, a Bit $xxxx instruction or nop $xxxx doesn't affect at all the execution in this case, and it's not an actual read of a value needed to produce sound or to alter the execution of the code depending of its result.
It's not to be considered a read outside data range at all.
Infact leaving the bit ($2c) or replacing it with nop ($0c) siddump and sidknown generate the same output.

I really hope it's going to return to the compo <3

@Hein: So it depends on only a single $2C BIT opcode byte. For me it still plays fine by changing it to $0C 'NOP absolute' which doesn't disturb the N-flag. (If illegals are not to be avoided.)

Ok, now that's a bar raised way too high ;)

@Hermit: it's bugged, it expects a positive value at $15B4, which breaks the compo rules. I'm working on an updated player to replace this 512 bytes entry. Thanks for the kind words, though.

It would be good to know why this masterpiece is a release 'out of compo'.
