Just discovered this one today - for so long I thought it might have been a hoax. Most impressive! Very well done, folks.

I've added an article/source on Codebase 64 regarding my part of this project, since Mr.SID won't talk about it on his blog. :)

Finally, as 1541u2's got Easyflash support, I've been able to play it on the real thing and throw out an honest opinion.

It's just awesome to be able to play PoP on the C64 and the effort from MrSid is fantastic - actually getting it all done. The graphics is well converted and I really don't mind that it's all in multicolor instead of partially in hires - it gives the game a consistent feeling. The music gets a bit on my nerves, as loud as it is compared to the sfx, but it's no biggie. The most important thing, the gameplay, is great and I've already played three long sessions of PoP last weekend (which says a lot since I quite easily get bored with playing the same game). At times I'm flabbergasted of how much action is going on simultaneously on the C64-screen, like when the mirror-Prince appears and steals my potion. :)

Thank you to all involved for this C64 gem. :)

@Mr.Sid: Fuck! I'm so dumb. I've two commodores working side by side and never thought of that. :)

@Skate: another possible solution is using the 1541U in one C64 and connecting the serial cable to another machine.

just received my EasyFlash yesterday and finished the game once again but this time on the real hardware (finally!!!). thanks again for this amazing port.

side story... since i didn't have an expansion port multiplying solution for 1541 Ultimate-II to work with EasyFlash and i don't have a disk drive in a good condition anymore, it took a while to be able to flash the game rom to EasyFlash. But after kicking one of my 1541-IIs for 30 minutes or so, i was able to finish the task. :) I guess new 1541 Ultimate-II firmware with EasyFlash support is gonna be a life saver. ;)

Super duper!
Couldn't get the saving to work with my Alien Flash, going to try it with a plain EasyFlash.
