Well, I honestly don't remember purple being that bright, it's almost as bright as light blue. Doesn't look like the original VIC-II set to me.
I have to blame my tft then :)

It's fantastic how the colors look different from the ordinary Pepto-set. May it be an awkward screen-dump even. I'm quite intrigued by the fact that you hardly used the background color at all.
