i guess you never played the arcade then - the c64 conversion is quite sluggish, eg the collision detection sucks balls =P

I was always impressed by the Ghosts'N Goblins Loading screen.
Not for one minute did I think it was from the Amstard CPC.
Maybe that goes someway to explaining why the image felt different to most Loading screens with their typicl C64 approach.

While many are divided, the in game graphics always impressed me, far more so than most Arcade conversions on the C64.
Level 2 was particularly impressive. The only down side was the lack of levels.

Well thanks but realistically, it's not my picture, It was just purely an experiment while I was doing an Amstrad conversion in the other direction. I just wanted to see if an experienced artist could convert it better than a piece of code could. Hence the image is as much "as was" as possible with no AA added by me. I hesitated in putting myself in the credits, but in the end I figured that I DID spend several hours working out the remapping and sorting out the shedloads of attribute problems and Steve Pickford has a credit on the original c64 version and he did fck all to make that happen :)
