yes, the routine is able to display any 16-col hires without earlier converting to sprites.

I guess that you talked about it with Fenek on X2010.

Haha, and i thought it meant "Least Significant Bit", as usually! ;-) I remember one of the Poles talked to me about this, quite possibly on X2010!... I seem to vaguely remember (Sorry, X is always mostly a blur in hindsight, all the intoxication! <:-) that it has full Hires specs for 3 extra chars in the border, 2 colors per 8x8 etc, yes? Let me guess: one multicolor sprite for Background plus 3 hires sprites on top?
