"Match Buster"
a game for the Commodore 64 (PAL)
written 2012 by Simon Stelling-de San Antonio (S.E.S./Crest)
for the "C64 16KB Cartridge Game Development Competition"
http://www.rgcd.co.uk/2012/04/c64-16kb-cartridge-game-developme..
of RGCD - http://www.rgcd.co.uk/

This game called "Match Buster" is a mash-up of interesting game elements
from "1k-mini-bdash" (also by me) and "Boulder Dash" and other tile-based
puzzle games like "PushCat" and some inspiration from the well-known
"Portal" games.

If you have any questions or problems concerning this game,
feel free to contact me: simon.stelling@gmx.de

*** Game Instructions ***

You are "Match Buster", the famous super hero. You dig through dirt caves
collecting magic coins. Watch out for deadly obstacles!

You need to collect a certain amount of coins, then the cave exit opens.
Reach the cave exit to win the cave and proceed to the next cave. There
is no time limit.

* If you get stuck in a cave, press Run/Stop to restart the cave. *

Each time you finish a cave, you get an extra life. The maximum number
of lives you can get is 9.

* Move player with Joystick in port 2. *

In most of the caves, you'll find gems in different colors. Move three
gems of the same color into a row (a "Match") and they magically turn
into three coins. This works horizontally and vertically.

You can push gems and stones to the left, to the right and also upwards.
You can even push several objects at once, as long as there is some free
space behind them.

* Pushing objects is hard work, so hold your Joystick longer to push. *
* Pushing is slower than walking speed. *
* DON'T hold down the Joystick Fire button to push. *

The game is over when you lost your last life.
Then, press Run/Stop or Joystick Fire to restart the whole game.

* Press the Restore key any time to quit and restart the whole game. *

Later during the game, you may find and pick up a gun.

* Hold Joystick Fire button and press Joystick left/right/up/down
* to fire the gun. *

* Press and release Joystick Fire button to toggle the gun. *

During the game, you will encounter other interactive game elements
not described here. See what happens!

Try to collect as much coins as you can in each cave to get your
personal best High Score.

Have fun!
