It is that time of year again when i have no choice but to crack open some *beer's, kick-back,
and watch Krestology, which is arguably one of my favourite demos for the Commodore 64 ^_^

*I'm really into Birra Moretti at the moment. For some reason the can's taste better than the bottles,
which is unusual, as it is normally the other way around.

Tons of gorgeous pics and babes inspired by BML. The bouncing balls and pig were really cool too. The end logo and font looks gorgeous but very hard to read. Great demo.

@Cresh: I tried it again and got it to work. You have to press the keys quite breifly, after that VICE will keep left-shift pressed until you press it again. And yes, indeed, an indicator would have been nice. :)

Cool demo btw! :P

JackAsser, I tried that in WinVice (2.0, 2.2).
Does not work, indeed. :|
Too bad there's no indication of SHIFT LOCK locked in Vice (or I missed something?)

Works for me in MacVICE.

@Cresh: Seems to work in the BASIC-editor, but not in the demo. Sure this is an emulator implementation? Maybe the C64-kernel works like that..

Shift lock is both shifts together.
Releasing shift lock is pressing left or right one again.

(As far as I remember)

@MrSID: Won't work for obvious reasons. ;)

(spoiler: shift-lock holds right-shift, not left)

Put a paperweight on your left shift key? :)

Lame-ass question: but for an emu-lamer such as myself, how do I hold the parts using shift-lock in VICE? :)

I have to agree:
"Best crack open a beer before watching Krestology, as it crawls along." or
"I don't quite enjoy the extremely slow pace"

Much releases crawled along in those days. But it tasted so good.
And today we got 2 tricks: disable SID + Enable Warp, if such is the case:

It gets you where ever you wanted and you'll Love this demo just as we all did in time, really quick!
Or if one wants: "Five minutes in the real world - gives you an hour in the dream world".

Like jailbird, I don't quite enjoy the extremely slow pace. It's not exactly my kind of demo, but still something worth seeing at least once ;_)

Best crack open a beer before watching Krestology, as it crawls along.
Not that that’s a bad thing, as it’s really good to watch.

Code, audio, design, and graphics (bar the lizard tongue) are faultless.
The ending is just plain great. One of the Top 10 demos on C64

Being at X96 when Krestology was released, brings back happy memories.

Technically really advanced but so awfully slow-paced I almost fall asleep every time I'm watching it.
Nevertheless, I'm not very fond of the extreme usage of converted/retouched fantasy images.

The demo which gave us a lot of new n' funky graphix formats (SHF, SHIF, UFLI). This demo has got tons of wicked gfx! But on the other hand it feels more like a graphics show than a demo.. I don't know what to vote :)

Simply one of the best demos for the C64 with tons of eye candy, technical brilliance and excellent SID music.
