He shouldn't have competed and orgas should have prevented his tunes (I see he also *won* in the executable music compo) to compete/be shown in first place, if this means troubles. I sense a willness to cause troubles in all this.

Somehow don't get it about GEMA.. it's probably something simal like we have here with SOZA (Slovak aassociation of auhors)? There was a lot of press coverate/scandals about SOZA asking money from non profit people/schools making events where music was played/performed.
