PlayEm64 is a tool which enables you to
play .SID files on your C=64. You just
have to change the file type/ending/ex-
tension on your PC from .SID into .PRG
and then drag&drop the single files on a
disk image. Thus, you can easily produce
your own disks/images ready to play your
favourite music, although some FILE RE-
STRICTIONS (see below) must be regarded.
Version 1.0 is meant for PAL systems on-
ly, though it adjusts NTSC tunes to the
right speed. Multiple speed tunes(tested
till 16x) are also supported.
To make proper use of all the MODEs this
software offers in an interactive way,
you might need to read on a little more,
however (esp. CUSTOM FILES, see below),
but of course you can also just enjoy
the ready-to-use-collections or mix and
modify those after your own fancy.
Since PlayEm64 uses KERNAL Load routines
only (for a good reason), it should be
highly compatible with special hardware.
SD2IEC/JiffyDos is recommended. However,
it also runs with a plain 1541 drive.
