Game is lovely but one thing confuses me constantly - those rotators turn you in the opposite direction they should imho ;)

This is a good puzzle game. But when it's game over, it's everything from the beginning again. Why not continue from last level?

I must have packed up the old cartridge file 2 times :-(
Sorry!

The game is now a strong eight from me!

Finally I have played the game and it is very nice!

A game that even an old man like me can handle without cheating ;-)
One of my favorite games this year in the competition.

Want to give the game a high rating but then it does not work on the cartridge which is the format that is developed, I have to lower the grade :-(

@ron.sos: The bug only appears on cartridge, so if the cartridge does not work for you, try the crack which is not on cartridge anymore. ;)

Had a proper game of Fickle. Great fun. SFX is amusing and music is very basic, but this is a great game overall.

I have downloaded the bug fixed file but I can not get it to work in Vice:-(
Installed the latest Vice but it still does not work.
Is there any special settings required for this game?

Quote:
To make matters worse, some recent though not latest versions of vice had a bug that did indeed blend in chargen at #$31 even though it should not have. So buggy did work in emulation...

the sad part is, however, that the bug was discovered AND FIXED shortly after Powerglove [16kb cartridge] was released, and fixed VICE snapshots have been available for about a year. so download the snapshot NOW, and don't use the old 2.4 anymore. kthxbye :)

I think this Problem should be called "Lazycow bug"! (named after the unlucky discoverer) ;)

Just for clarity, I'll allow this fixed version as a replacement entry within the compo - lazycow also had similar issues with powerglove last year.

I really enjoyed this one btw. :)

Like the neat hi-res design on this one and the puzzle mechanism is quite good once sussed out - nice work, well done.

This is a known issue with 16 KB carts. It is non trivial for the unexperienced coder (with carts) as tables like these: http://unusedino.de/ec64/technical/aay/c64/memcfg.htm are insufficient then (GAME, EXROM).
To make matters worse, some recent though not latest versions of vice had a bug that did indeed blend in chargen at #$31 even though it should not have. So buggy did work in emulation...
