Why did the dynamite disappear?!? Hahaha this pic is brilliant!
Our first TV was b/w so I know where you're coming from.

Quoting Hoild
@CSDb staff: plz fix (whatever)

That's so cute. Hoild, where have you been living in the past five years, on Mars?

I see you have high expectations, Hoild. Haha. That's nice to know. But yeah, this image is literally a 3-4 hour doodle after not really doing much C64 stuff for almost 2 years. There will be weirder stuff to come I am sure. :)

@CSDb staff: plz fix the b0rked link translator in your comment engine. As you can see below it messes up links that contain parentheses, and I bet there are other non-alphanumeric characters that would also mess it up.

My immediate association is the Red Shirt Guys:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Redshirt_(character)

Otherwise, this picture is a way too generic caricature-style release. I expected something far more abstract and/or twisted from ptoing.

I was going to write: i hate you ptoing ;)
But
This screenshot explains everything.
I love you bro. This piece is ofcourse excelent pixel work.
And i'll try to play with this using c+4 colors when i'm back. 10/10

Nice pic. Don't get the point with screenshot being b/w. Maybe it's because I'm too young and got a 1802 with my first C64 when things were already cheap, because Amiga was teh shit at that time.

No one tell Carrion! You will just have to wait until you get back from vacation :) No interlace though.

Thanks :)

DGGR: I had a crappy b/w TV when I had my C64 back when I was a kid. I remember playing H.E.R.O. (which I had seen at a friend's place in colour) and thinking "Why did the dynamite disappear?" Did not know about the luma stuff at all back then :D

Tweaked Saturation in VICE to 0% and got it to see like in the screenshot \o/
This luminance idea reminds me of Goner's pic from Sweet Cosmo – there was a visual bug but Goner had never seen it since he was pixelling a colour pic on a BW monitor! ;-)

quite kewl, reminds me of the old days when I initially had nothing but a rotten black&white TV to play C64 games

Leon: How is it fake? The image can be made to look like that in Vice or on a real machine (plus a bit of blur and scanlines of course)

I was expecting those grey-scales as in the snapshot and is rather happy you didn’t use any at all.
Nice play with the facial features without going too abstract.

Thanks everyone. I will quite likely be a bit more active again :)

JSL: Did you actually download the prg and look at it in VICE or the real thing ;)

Aaaaand: Another small update :( OCD much, ptoing?

Looking good, Ptoing. :) I know the thing with a forgotten pixel quite well, if the pixel would be in the same color, like something darker then okay but someone having a monitor instead a tv like me, looks at a disturbing clear dot... I had a bright one.. The picture is quite Grey, and the title has a message, seems more Grey on the outside, because how older you become... Simple graphic, cartoony I see looking at his right hand (fingers), keep 'em coming. ;DD
