Solid effort and I'm sure Brian liked his present. I don't understand the nitpicking really. I don't think the Talent logo is too dark, but I'd skip the background on the Ikari one. Nice logos overall.

Thumbs up!

They made a present for Excell... A PRESENT! Full of their love.

PAL: Everytime you throw something into the public you offer it to the liking and disliking comments from the rest of the world. That's life.
Most people posted their opinion in a factual way... with one grand exception: YOU! Trying to insult everyone with your rowdy words.

Come on people... give it a rest... her you have someone trying to make a gift for a person that was very happy for that present on fb and you all just go on like always telling it was not how you would want to do it! FUCK YOU ALL! THEY DID IT LIKE THIS AND IT WAS NICE - IDIOTS!

Only real similarity to the original is the charset and the music, but it's missing the charm of the equal styled logos and the coop-groups taking equak shares of the screen. The Ikari logo is too dominant here while the Talent one falls into the back because of it's smaller size and darker colors.
I like the orignal one much more, sorry.

yes, agreed... DrJ, change the text in the AKA field to match what TheRyk suggested!...

I guess if you had just named it "Happy B-Day Excell/Ikari" instead of "Ikari remake 1989 intro" there would have been a great deal less nitpicking. As already pointed out, there's too little to recognize as remake as Oswald and I tried to point out

@Doc: okay, charset & music, but "layout" imho would have meant to use 1 logo font only to create 2 logos of the same size. Don't feel offended, as bugjam and many before said, apart from unclear/lacking "remake" character, it's quite nice.

I guess the goal of this remake was to give a small present to Excell and celebrate his bday! that's why I'll ignore all technical aspects and give 10/10.

nice but I would have problems to read the logo.

For other tribute intros, make a tribute to the Arcade intros...

sorry guys, but the original one is more stylish. get some feel for design.

original one:

- screen halved in aesthetical proporties for the 2 group
- nicely similar logo / scroller font
- nice color schemes complementing each other (red / blue)
- scroller / logo colors mixed up for fun

this one to resemble the original should have atleast have the logos in the same style AND size.

even the rasterline is out of position, once above, once under the scroller...

@TheRyk: there is at least 3 elements
i kept from the original intro, the charset , the music , the layout , the changing one star animation . look the
original intro and you will see.
Ikari & Talent Intro
it was a birthday present to Excell

As an intro I kinda like it, but themewise I also don't really understand what it has to to with that particular Ikari intro apart from both playing the same music.

Technically, nothing to complain about, nice arrangement and coloring. The Talent logo swing looks kewl, not even the biggest Ikari fanboy would spontaneously decipher the upper logo. I like the sprite objects fx, particularly in lower part.

Sorry Dr.J, i think this Intro has nothing to do with the original Intros from IKARI which were really, really cool and one of my fav. ones in the past...!
