last note to the game developers: its fascinate me to see how cool ppl put a lot of efforts for a commercial game nowdays when there are not many c64 gamers around , its not obvious and i kudos all of you for preserving this tradition . thumbs up!!!

This game is awesome. Controls are excellent, everything runs really smooth and it gets quite challenging towards the end. And I love the music! All thumbs up from me!

To those who don't like the music, sorry you don't like it, I though I did a good job at the time especially as all the in game music is just on two voices, but if we all liked exactly the same things the world would suck. As for not using filters or pulse-tables properly, I don't use filters at all on this one and where I used the pulse tables I got exactly the sounds I was after. Hope people like the game none the less and aren't put off by the soundtrack.

@Heavy Stylus: about the rocket smash game page, or better "itch.io" i think it isn't so good, i myself don't like when a page look like a c64 game, most cases it fails to be friendly and practical , and the yellow text killing my eyes hehe. now, for the game itself: very cool!! really awesome , however ,i think the music aspect could be more polished 'coz somehow i felt the filters of aren't balanced or even not used properly, so if you like unfiltered music (rough chords) its nice , but if your ears got used to fine tuning of the filters /pulse tables its a bit grating

Cheers Spider-J! Well, itch.io is a good compromise. Some devs really want 'something' for their work, and others would rather it be free. Likewise, some players get really angry if they have to - or cannot - pay for a download, so now everyone is happy :) Especially me, as itch.io handle EU VAT issues on digital sales ;)

Very fun game. Don't like the music that much, but it's okay. Donated a small amount after playing a while. If only to support RGCD 'new' free download on release policy ;-)

The best ever Jetpac style game ever graced the Commodore 64. Well done guys.

As stated previously the HW version does not work 100% on VICE or the U1541-II (the secret game doesn't load), so I've replaced that with the VICE version.

in particular for this release its really silly - because the ROM is being disabled by setting $01 anyway, and it totally doesnt matter at all (down to the point that this "VICE" crt will even work fine on the rgcd cartridge hardware) - so i dont understand why it even exists. for future images, just use $88 to disable and forget about those differences, it does more harm than good.

Groepaz, tbh you're right - the 'HW' version is ONLY for use on pcbs by sharewareplus (which are similar to magicdesk apart from that one difference), so it needn't be distributed at all. I didn't upload it here - do you want me to remove it from the page to avoid confusion?

why dont you guys just put $88 into $de00 to disable the cartridge instead of spreading two versions (one of which is technically broken and not magic desk format at all)?

Vice version is for VICE/Ultimate 1541-II. HW version is only for burning to your own real-life cartridge ;)

As it is single-load, both work in VICE, but there is a subtle difference...
