first, I think this is probably the best version, so I'm not trying to bitch here, just saying my opinion, also its really doesnt matter if separate files or not, but I think there are benefits of that. As said sharing savegames is easyer, secondly if the big iffl file brakes then it brings down the savefiles aswell. with separate savefiles you can just copy them to another disk with the game. again it doesnt really matter anyway. dont think anyone will face any if these problems, or will want to share savefiles etc.

"*maybe* someone else has other ideas than you. stats editor doesnt has story progress anyway, and what not. what if a few sectors gets corrupted, how do rescue your savegame if you're just an average user?"

If your savegames are so important to you that you worry about corruption, you make backups like you do with any other data that is precious to you.

Since this is part of a competition I don't want to promote our own version too much as I rather see the public decide which one is best from their individual standpoints.

However, I would like to point out that it's no problem importing savegames from the original (or other versions using the original format) into our crack. Oswalds comment could be interpreted that it was.

It is however correct that you can't export savegames, but as Jedi points out, who would want to play another version anyway? ;) (Hmm, couldn't help promoting, could I?).

My only advice to the voter is to check out all three competing versions and decide for themselves. I salute all who managed to contribute with a version.

Oswald, this version has a stats editor. I'd rather just use that, than someone else's savegame.

"Why would you want to copy savegames between versions what you have this, anyway. ;-)"

maybe so you can get someone elses savestate with much better stats? tho I wonder if anyone would play this seriously.

This is the ULTIMATE version of this game for me! Superb loader system and compatibility, impressive trainers, the only version with complete docs (great effort) and savegames in the IFFL is a nice feature - great work, TRIAD! PS Why would you want to copy savegames between versions what you have this, anyway. ;-)

Great contribution to the competition. The ingame trainer was *very* nice.

I am not a big fan of the implementation of the savefiles inside the IFFL. It has several negative sideeffects (can't copy between cracks, fixed allocation of blocks even if you just have data in one of the slots, you can't have a separate savedisk and so on), but given the desiscion to implkement it like this, it's very near perfect.

My vote is still with Breeze though....
