Heh, nice to spot the differences to the finalized game world (now the game is using a mostly 2D layout similar to Metroid.) Still got friendlies + ingame text + cutscenes to do and then it will be complete.

Nice work, now I know the perfect protection: stuff the disk so full of data that there's no room for the crack intro :)

Btw. this version has left enabled an internal dev cheat to toggle weapons with Z/X keys, which may interfere with normal inventory operation. In the final game the amount of weapons you can carry at once will be limited.

@TheRyk - Actually, I want to decrease the amount of categories here as there is far too many.

As for "this-millenium-so-called-cracking-tradition", releasing previews isn't some new thing thing.

I like the way you can jump onto the background graphics and even onto the end railing inside the building, little details like this show he has gone the extra mile.
Excellent quality feel to the game with smooth scrolling and excellent music, very promising hopefully it gets finished.(:-)

I hope Cadaver keeps working on it until this game is finished. Even an earlier preview of this great game was fun to play ;)

Yes, Cadaver is very busy working on it again, after being stuck for several months. Hope the new storyline will help him to finish it. Go, Lasse, go!

Noone claimed anything was cracked here, check the credits. That is correct. We do have to stay with CSDb standard, though, and according to that this is a crack. If Cadaver himself would release a preview it would be released as "Game preview".

I guess our old version was "praised" because we were first dragging this fine project out in the light, which was the whole idea - and also the reason we did not release a new preview. The game will be a blast, as this preview, and the daily and everchanging Github versions, show.

Didi, I fully understand that (that's why I rate this one rather high for Preview). linked GP version already. Have seen worse cases (introlinked/leeches stuff plus nothing) in terms of statgrabbing.

Fake crack anyone? xD

Wertstahl's own group did similar by releasing Hessian Preview &D and was praised to heaven for it. What does that tell us? ;) - Beware throwing stones if you are sitting in a house made of glass.

This release shows that this great project was not cancelled, as it seemed at some spot but got relaunched instead. It gives public the possibility to take a peek what's already done, because not everyone is able or willing to compile sourcecodes.

The trainers allow you to check out the great weaponery and prevents you from killing your own character with it (which is possible).

There has been discussion in the past about adding a different category for groups putting out game previews - nothing came of it.

totally my opinion and plausible reason for secret mongering of many developers

however, yeah, as Mark Twain put it: Any publicity is good publicity (as long as you spell my name right) ;)

what about a cracking protection contest.

TheRyk: *sigh*. Maybe it is just that my [tba] isnt open source because of stuff like this, while it perhaps should be. But, lets hope other developers still can guess the promo factor in this kind of release. [Note to self: give them something to *really* crack..]

As someone who watches this open source Project by a fellow Scener since 2012, please let me ask: how is this a crack?
What was cracked?
And since the source was there, and furthermore, even the center door is still disabled, how do the trainers improve it? Without enemies, i mean.
How does this release help?
