@soci I didn't know about that, thanks for including it. I'll see if the others I have from him are based on other pieces that I can include a source for.

people use black as background because all gfx programs, from koalapaint to the modern pc tools, has that color as default.
so you begin to paint some draft idea you have in mind and when you realize that perhaps purple was a better choice for your pic then it's too late.
you professional painters know those tricks, lame & lazy ones like me fail all the time, hehe.

Cool! Thanks for the information by the way.
Sorry if my crit came out wrong, just reasoning and questioning out load.. Esp. at great gfx..
Never trust a program though, always make the choices consciously by counting up for the desired FX..

@Joe speaking for Sturmwulfe he was just using the C64 pallet and resolution as guideline when creating these on a PC, but not keeping in mind a background color that can be placed freely. I tried doing the conversion with white as the background vs black and found black for this turned out a little better for some reason.

I have a few more to release soon, but I think this one and the Cyberpunk woman look best on our system.

..And black was the background color.. When will graphic artists learn?
Missing out on lots of options for antialias to white that way..

Another rendering of his (Sturmwulfes) images? I like it alot!
Though, there is something odd by placing orange as darker antialias color to red instead of.. blue (just to be off the conventional step)..
Still it works and the image is nice!
