don't take every comment regarding design as a discouragement (or get yourself a helmet, as groepaz said). take it as a hint to improve. if i would have taken some reactions regarding my work as discouragement i would have stopped all my scene activities. don't do so if your approach to coding and making demos is ment serious. ... just my 0.2 cents ;)

wtf does that have to do with respect? if you (or the coder) feel offended by such a remark. uuuuuh. get a helmet. (and how the fuck would someone be able to improve if noone would tell what he doesnt like? guess its "uh everything someone does on c64 must be cool" day again. *sigh*)

"I was born under a wand'rin star?" Maybe you should ask the coder, if he thought about that song from Lee Marvin, which is by the way one of my favorite songs. Maybe you should also ask him, what he does in his sparetime with family, band and job and that he teaches assembler all to himself in his rare sparetime. Now think it over again, if this one moving star really is that disturbing for you.
What you just do discover is the birth of a new coder and his 'workstages'. Please respect that, people!
