That high pitch 'TICK" was barely audible through my tiny Samsung telly in 1994 :D

You're absolutely right about it, though!

I did not have a decent sound system that would reveal that problem that time and everything sounds pretty smooth, sweet and dirty on my C64, anyway. (even through decent sownd sys) My old sunburnt beast is not 'special' or something but its sound is vastly different from any C64 machines I've heard.

Some odd sound details were surprising for me as well after .SID conversion - but these tunes were like that in their time, composed with a real C64 and a small Samsung telly. They would probably have issues when playing on other C64 machines, too.

Anyway, it is old stuff, a piece of my history that has been closed, and it wouldn't feel right and true to alter any of old tunes. Instead, I will concentrate on stepping forward and creating new music, despite the long SID silence. After so much years passed, I can test the sound on real studio equipment ;) SIDPLAY and VICE are nice tools for making a "uniform okay" sound as well.

Well, regard it as some old car with obvious design flaws that seemed okay in the circumstances of its time ;)

Wicked. Just that high pitched percussionthingy spoils it a bit for me.
