Quite interesting that Irwin mentioned the Amiga game, Perihelion in his comment.

In fact Leon really likes the visual style of that game, and was obviously inspired by it just as much as by Csaba Foris's graphics from our game, Newcomer.

Back to Perihelion, as an extra trivia -- that game was made by folks from the respected Hungarian Amiga demoscene group, Cerberos.
