Great port. All Vectrex ports from Peiselulli are good, my favorite is "Fortress of Narzod". "Spike" and "Minestorm" are also really good. This purple-white Spike-logo already deserves a prize by it's own in my opinion, because it looks that great.

@morphfrog : The sample are streamed into a wave file with the help of a vectrex emulator and after that converted into a smaller format for the game.

I just played this versoion for the first time and I must say Is is very good version of this true classic vectrex one.

Btw are samples sampled direct from the original?

I recently found this game, and its now my top favorite/most addictive C64 game! 10 years from now, I'm going to be nostalgic about this game like I was about pacman, 15 years ago :) LOL Thanks for the perfect game, Peiselulli!

@Peiselulli
It's a shame you don't want to do any more ports, but fair enough. Minestorm control could be done if up=thrust and down=hyperspace. The only technical issues would be handling all the screen dots and the ship's 360 degree rotation (same with a lot of Vectrex games: Bedlam, Cosmic Chasm, Ripoff, Solar Quest, Space War, Star castle)... some classics there that have no 64 equivalent.
Minestorm has this silly level 13 bug as well ;p

@neo-rio : I think this was the last vectrex port from my side. Spike and Fortress of Narzod are two Games that are very original and there were no games before with the same gameplay like this for the C64. Clean Sweep for example is only a Pacman clone, and there are many clones on C64. This is true for other games of the vectrex, too. The only game that has no real port on the C64 is Minestorm, but I think it doesn't work with only one fire button (and I hate the in-game usage of the keyboard).

@Linus
Of course! He deserves a long holiday! (as do you. Nice work on the music!)
Just curious to know, how much vector zooming can you get away with on these conversions? If not much, then Clean Sweep should be do-able ;)

Heh, never heard of Jozz :) But yeah, this is just standard blues stuff :)

that #2 tune of Linus kinda reminds me of Jozz' Kamikaze - I can just hear Jozz' lead from Kamikaze over this bassline... Sounds like the same chord progression to me - but again... that is very standard :D
