Ah.. Didn't reflect on the rasterbars. My first (implicit) thought was that it was all PETSCII, but obviously it isn't. :)

A minor coding tip. Use the following:

lda #$xx
- cmp $d012
bne -

...instead of:

- lda $d012
cmp #$xx
bne -

...in order to get a slightly more "stable" (i.e. quicker) check for the current rasterline.

Well done. BBS graphics are difficult to create. Good PETSCII graphicians have always been rare :)
