I added 512 KB wrapping so the version linked to below works with any TAP size now in all known REU emulations:
TAP writer 0.2 > 512 KB [reu]

I see. The 'real world' existance of 2mb REUs that have this bug is an important point. I will allow for > 512 KB in 0.2 then ;-)

The CMD 1750XL REU has 2 MB of RAM. Does it also wrap at 512 kB?

I describe that behavior in the summary.
Apparently the MMU of the 1541u REU implementation is emulating the hw of the original 512 KB REU. So DMA commands are limited to 2^19 bytes. Hence, the autoload wraps after 512 KB. I suggest to change the 1541u emulation and posted that on the 1541u forum. Till that is changed or fixed consider this to work merely with TAP files of less than 512 KB (see the first ones I recommend in the summary for exmaple *g*).
The dilemma in short: there never were supposed to be 16 MB REUs. Now that they have been artificially created with the 1541u, they should work as expected IMHO ;-)

Great tool for 1541U users, I tried it with my 1541U-II and recorded to it. Giana Sisters .tap of 755kB ended up as a 600kB file, only the first picture of the intro worked and then there was blackness. When trying the 58kB .tap of the early version of the SEUCK intro it worked fine. 58kB in and 58kB out that loaded correctly. Writing from the REU like this is something that should be added to the 1541U firmware IMHO. Hope you sort out that large file issue.
When will you release the TAP > REU TAP reader? ;-)

Ah nice. I've got an old datasette here that I have never used; I might give this a go just for shits and giggles.

Oh. Apart from I have no idea where to buy tapes from these days :P
