Text from Krestage 3 - More Weird Stuff

Description:Scrolltext
Text:welcome to yet another demo from crest. this time we bring you: krestage 3 - more weird stuff - ...and that means, we are going to blow away some in stone carved definitions. we start with a little sprite routine. as you probably know, the height of a sprite can be stretched unlimited. but the maximum width of an unexpanded sprite is 24 pixel, and 48 pixel expanded. but up here you can see five x-expanded sprites with a width of 50 pixel. no $3fff tricks nor $d016 fakes. these sprites are realy 50 pixel wide. also no faking with the remaining 3 sprites which were use on the overlay skull at the right... so, i had this little routine, but still more than 90% of the screen to get filled with other stuff. then suddenly, it hit me like a lightning and i found something like the holy grail on the c-64. a method to display real 9 sprites in one rasterlines!!! something most people though it is impossible... and again there is no faking with $3fff or other things. you can easily see that the sprites are in the same rasterline by checking the dark gray background lines. ok, this routine works only every second rasterline, but then there are 9 different sprites (btw. the routine doesn't need two equal letters - that's just because i didn't find any senseful word using 9 different letters). so, the upper and lower border was filled with new routines. then i remembered a very old routine i have made about 10 years ago after seeing a megastyle inc. demo. they showed a picture-mover havinga fli image on the right side and only 4 colored bitmap on the left side (the fli-bug was moving with the images). i thought: yes, it is normal that you have only the same color under each other if you move the fli bug to the right. but as plush says: normal is boring! so i made a routine that allows you to have a standard 16 colored multicolor bitmap on the left side of the fli bug. this was already 10 years ago and i never used this routine. but now it was time to release this little thing and it fills up the remaining screen prefectly... so as i am running out of memory i will finish this scroll with the usual credits.. audial by jeff and visual by crossbow... packed together on may, 13th 2007 excuse me if some of the routines were already released, but i don't have the time to check all demos. hope to see you all in the next demo... thumbs up!
