Any plans to have a new ECM compo? :)

As a reminder, the original rules was:

Competition Rules:

* The Effect must be a one-screener
* For ECM Mode only one Charset with 64 Chars is allowed
* The 64 Char Font is not allowed to be altered at runtime
* Play with your imagination. Maybe use the Petscii font in ECM mode
* Variations of the effect are allowed but it must be the same effect(code)
* Alteration or switching of the font on a per-line basis is not allowed ((linecrunching / etc.) set $d011/d016/d018/vic-bank only in init))

probably a 2nd 'unrestisricted' demo/intro compo could be also run within such a compo:
* For ECM Mode multiple Charsets are *allowed*
* The 64 Char Font is *allowed* to be altered at runtime
* Alteration or switching of the font on a per-line basis is *allowed*: ((linecrunching / etc.) set $d011/d016/d018/vic-bank can be set freely))

...so in other words, the only restriction is to use ECM mode only for graphics & Charset (using sprites are also allowed, etc.)

What do you think? :)

Feel free to implement what Krill said if you like. Would be a nice addition!

I was hoping for a minimal rule to disable anything non-ECM by a key press, for better-informed decisions.

Lock shift, and... no sprites, no bitmap mode, no idle byte, nothing except just plain old ECM. =)

Welcome to the ECM Compo 2021

This time i dont want to put up any restrictions. The focus should ofcourse be on using the ECM mode.

Also as last year this compo is all for FAME. Sorry no prices ;)

When you feel like contributing to this little compo dont forget to add your release to this compo.

Voting will end at 1st of December 23:59 (UTC/GMT +1:00 hour)
