Lamer party. This time the party went totally gamer, and away from the scene. This could f.eks. be seen by that the compo-prices for counterstrike was 4 times bigger than for the wild-compo (4000 euro for 1st place in CS, 1000 euro for 1st place in wild). (and the party was totally spammed with those mindless game-compos) Only one demo category for all types of demos ("wild" - the compo type that usually sucks the most. Only about 10 demo entries in total!).

Luckily, the party was punished for their foul misdeeds. Only half of the people that usually come to the party came (that is about 1500 instead of about 3000 - most was uninteresting gamer-kiddies).

It's pretty sad how the party has evolved the last few years. It used to be a great party with a great atmosphere (lotta demos, sceners, technorave, and a lotta people talking to eachother n' doing cool stuff, instead of just sitting in front of their PC and playing games). This year it seems like the party has finally admittet what it allmost have been the last times - just a big LAN-party.

Ofkoz i didn't go this year, coz' it sounded so fucked up, and roumours says that it really sucked more than imaginable.

So to sum up: TP 2002 - the biggest flop of 2002 (maybe of the entire history of the scene)

Hopefully the party will no more be held (it pains me that it suck so much), or it'll get new organizers next year that doesn't suck ass. (maybe drop the stupid net - you don't go to a party to surf the internet do you?)

This wasn't really a C64 party in any way, but because there have been 11 "The Party"'s before this I thought it should be here.
If for no other reason so for the reason that The Party this year died totally for the demo scene in general.
Only one demo-compo was held with all types (wild, demo, intro etc) combined. Total of 10 entries. No C64 releases afaik though.
