Handle id #13510 : Gary Partis
Gary Partis a scener? Try jobbing BBC coder who did his own C64 conversions and we'll be getting a bit closer to the mark... |

I added him as he had made a tune that was ripped for a demo.
That made him worth adding in my opinion. |

I've seen this happen many times before .. personally I feel such people shouldn't be in the database, as they're not sceners. A solution could be to have a special type of entry for game musicians. |

Needs to be an option for graphics people too i think, after all there are lots of game rips in older demos... perhaps an option to add one-off credits to non-sceners on a release? |

This has been discussed a few times before. In the eyes of CSDb, if someones work has been used in scene productions then he is a scener. I know this isn't totally nice, and is probably something that should be different in CSDb V2. (some kind of flag for each person perhaps?) |

It's (again) something I aim to solve in v2, yes ;) |

i know it's been discussed before but it really started to stretch the point when Partis was added; he was a Beeb coder who just did his own C64 ports and the tune itself is a cover of a cover so he didn't compose it... |

On my homepage (http://pirates.emucamp.com) productions which were done for the particular program are listed at the top of each individual/group in big letters, then at the bottom of the screen all things (like Hubbard music in demos) which are just ripped are listed in small letters, so it's easy to make a difference. |
