To begin with I must confess that I was not at the party, so my opinions are probably not worth that much, but anyway:
I think that splitting compos and having the music compo on Friday night was a really good move!
Having been to similar parties, but where everything is crammed into the Saturday night compos, it feels like the compos kind of lose steam when they are going on for too long. So even though the "Big hitters" like C64 demo are placed last, people are getting tired after watching compos for five hours already.
Now, the music compos (which can be quite long, as there usually are many entries) got their own spotlight, instead of just being a prelude to the democompos on Saturday.
So the new Datastorm compo schedule seemed much better to me at least. |
