Handle id #11165 : 1701

1701 isnt a scener, but rather a group. One of the first Swedish groups in fact, and they did a few cracks back in the early years (one of them having an intro making fun of the classic GCS intro)

More info can be found here: http://www.c64hq.com/?type=3&id=147

Ugh, ugly :)

I've created 1701 as a group instead & changed the scener 1701 to JoLo who was one of the members of 1701.

Nice :)

Too bad I have none of my old 1701-cracks any longer; had some of them on cassette (back before I bought a disc drive) but those tapes are long gone.

I have a few 1701-cracks, unfortunately I think many of them have read errors :(

is D.J the same person that released cracks as mr.dj during the early/mid 80ies? Ive seen some on my turbotapes.

I know theres already a Mr.DJ but its not him.

And as a side note, it would be interseting to know who Mr.Sverige was.

I don't think they're the same.

As a side note I would love to know who Xerox was.

Now that I come to think of it.. Perhaps it sounds tedious but if there are a couple of copies of the same product with different read errors, it might be possible to join the (sector) data to reconstruct the original, unbroken product.. It should be fairly simple to write a tool doing just that..

Excellent idea! :)
Yes, kind of tedious to do by hand.
Would need to do a custom tool if we were to do many of these, but it would be really useful.
Does anyone in this thread have multiple copies of any of the 1701 stuff? I'm willing give it a try...
