Handle id #17008 : Magnus Wahlberg

I wonder if this is really a scener, his tunes are co-credited in TDM's HVSC entries. Did he (co-)compose the tunes for the 64 or did TDM just covers?

Do the same for my crappy old 1998-99 Future Composer remake of it... and other remakes if any.

Checked: Your sids in your directory don't need any author field cleanup, STIL already corrected too. don't worry =)

Magnus 'Yngwie' Wahlberg is the author of the three themes which make out the Metal Generation. The ideas were loosely translated into a future composer song by me, some time during the late 80's. Actually Yngwie sat beside and played the guitar and we jammed over the themes. Later on during 1992, I made a new arrangement of the ideas and hotted up the sounds and beat. I also adde a modulation between part 2 and 3 (from A min -> A maj), instead of letting the third part run in major parallell C as Yngwie (Magnus) used to play it.

Making it short, I would say I covered his song. It's always hard to draw a line of ownership. The song was never produced outside the C64 (That I know of?)

As iAN CooG says, Yngwie is metal guitarist and current plays with The Itch, (Awesome dudes, btw).

Does this make it anymore clear? :)

Best regards
Hans Axelsson (TDM/triad)

Thanks a lot for the information, Hans.

I have some more detailed question. I'd give C64 credits for Metal Generation 1990 to both of you, while the re-arrangement 1992 goes to you only. How is it the with 'Turkish Tune'? Did you both co-jam beside/at the 64 too?

TDM: Yeah a bit more clear now thanks =)
The only problem is now if we should consider Wahlberg a C64 scener and keep it on the database, or not ;)

Also we need a confirmation, if /MUSICIANS/T/The_Dungeon_Master/Red_Storm_intro.sid ( from Red Storm )is actually yours, so we can remove the "<?>" from the author field. I think was marked as unsure because it's the only tune in the demo not credited.

/MUSICIANS/T/The_Dungeon_Master/Red_Storm_intro.sid is mine. When it comes to Magnus, he wasn't a scener in that meaning of the word, he was more like a inspirational source and a musical friend. We just happened to have a C64 in the same room we jammed :)

As it looks Magnus and Hans were jamming in their room, and Hans was putting notes of the tunes into his 64. So I'd say it's a valid co-composition, unlike JCH's 'Ending' which is just a straight cover from ICE's mod without ICE adding to the 64 work.
Like mentioned above I'd add him.

Rough, Same goes for Turkish Tune. We experimented a lot with scales and echoes. Bythe way, that song lay the ground for the three songs in "Classix"

I would like to add that Turkish Tune is a very cool tune which I have literally listened to for hours.

Rough, I'm actually thinking of making a new version of it with accordions and flutes. :)
