Release id #109130 : EasyCLI 0.04 [EasyFlash]

I have a question for the moderators.

EasyCLI will be going through a lot of revisions, very quickly over the next few weeks. Instead of seeing people post multiple entries for it during that time, wouldn't it be best if this entry were renamed "EasyCLI Alpha [EasyFlash]" and simply add the new versions as downloads to this entry? Then when it enters Beta then we can create a new entry called "EasyCLI Beta [EasyFlash]" and finally when it goes 1.0 then do "EasyCLI 1.0 [EasyFlash]"? Think think this would be preferable to half a dozen entries between now and 1.0.

generally a seperate entry should be created for each release.

wether all and every delevopment release needs one is another question, you dont see that with vice either, for example :)

Here's my dilema. The quality of the codebase is improving drastically with each release, and as such I think people should always know about the newest version (this is one of the reasons I use CodePlex, it makes these historical releases a piece of cake). I'm afraid that if these old versions are the only thing people see on CSDb then they'll give up on the project not knowing about the newer alpha and beta releases. I purposefully didn't post EasyCLI to CSDb because I don't think it's really ready for inclusion yet, but others thought otherwise and posted it. So now that it's here the question is how best to manage the balance between keeping users up-to-date and not inundating CSDb with each and every release?

Add a comment to the entry mentioning that it's outdated and that a newer version can be downloaded from the homepage.

I am the one to blame adding them to csdb, but as with everything else, I will post every c64 release and version I find. For archeologic reasons, at least. Everything released is released. But I do understand Durins concern.

I also agree with Magervalp's solution. Link to the later versions.
